AimSee
Synopsis
Following in the footsteps of Carla, a heroine of a new kind, neither a spy, nor a warrior, nor a housewife, but a high-flying international consultant, the reader enters step by step behind the scenes of a high-tech universe. AimSee is a fiction of today or tomorrow, depicting the daily life of a Chinese startup faced with a challenge of a new kind. Carla, her common sense, her blog and her followers on the Web, all will contribute to proposing a new path.

Back cover
Carla crosses the planet to take up her post. As is often the case, she does not know exactly what to expect. The first person she meets there is an old sage, a true memory of the place, who introduces himself as her designated godfather. Disconcerted by the manners and customs of the man who could be her grandfather, she wonders how he will be able to help her navigate this high-tech empire.

The author
The author (Scenart) is a collective of contributors under the direction of C. Auriach, editor and consultant. The story is conceived following a framing work involving professionals in the field illustrated by fiction, here the partners of Mentat Conseil. Documentary research, generation of ideas, construction of the plot, personification of styles, writing, translation, so many opportunities to co-create.
A fiction delving into the world of modern digital service companies, completed by an afterword demystifying concepts that seem complex to the neophyte, but are in reality increasingly present in our daily lives, which it is therefore essential to know and understand. Carla, a recurring heroine, flies to Asia and takes on an extraordinary challenge involving very real AIs, in today's China.

The vein of the book
The books in the Initiatives collection are unique in that there is no future fiction associated with a given, very real company, even if it is deliberately unrecognizable, anywhere else than at Scenent. The future described there is one of the possible futures that takes into account both general trends and trends specific to the underlying organization, here the company Mentat Conseil, sponsor of the book.
However, it is possible to cite a few company-fiction titles, belonging to a genre close to that of the collection. For example, with two publishers with the "ck" in common:
- Élisabeth ou l'Equité, by Eric Rheinhart (Stock): a play that reads like a novel, featuring an HR director torn between two opposing forces within her company.
- L'associé, by John Grisham (Pocket): a suspense novel set in the world of American law firms.
Why Initiatives ?
The Initiatives collection projects the reader into a possible future.
Reading AimSee allows you to understand, anticipate, and learn the challenges of digital technology while having fun. In the same book, two versions of the same text, in French and English, also allow you to learn English when you are French-speaking, or French when you are English-speaking. The afterword presents ten key trends guiding the evolution of a digital services company (DSC), Mentat Conseil (mentat.fr) being both a model and a witness.

Afterword - "blog-notes" by Carla : 10 trends
The afterword makes the link with ten underlying trends in the sector: the convergence between recruitment and training processes, digital technology in 21st century China, the rise of transmedia contact centers, augmented consulting, effectuation, science fiction at the service of innovation, a "tech-ethical" reason for being, bioinformatics, the organizational laboratory, labor cost arbitrage.

Bilingual version
The fiction as well as the afterword can be read in French (first half of the book) or in English (second half of the book) as desired.
